Founded by a group of certified practicing doctors trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Western Pharmacy frustrated with the limited range and quality of natural products in Canada, Bema offers the highest quality centuries-old classical herbs and other medicinal substances, including secret concoctions carefully guarded by master physicians of the Far East.

THE WIDESPREAD PROBLEM OF HERBAL IMPURITIES

The marketplace, unfortunately, is populated by herbs and herbal remedies that do not meet safety standards on heavy metal limits, bacterial count, aristolochic acid, and other harmful substances. Many raw herbs, although efficacious for their healing purposes, also contain unacceptably high levels of impurities. So when they are ground or decocted, the impurities are not removed.

STRICT PROTOCOLS FROM START TO FINISH
Strict quality control measures are followed starting from the raw herb materials received to the rest of the manufacturing processes in order to ensure the safety, consistency and efficiency of every batch of our products.  

ALL HERBS AUTHENTICATED
Visual inspection is carried out by experienced herbal handlers. Physical inspection and microscopic identification is conducted by botanists.

ENVIRONMENTALLY-CONTROLLED WAREHOUSE
All raw herb materials are stored in humidity and temperature-controlled warehouse.

QUALITATIVE/QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS
Herbs and final finished products are analysed by TLC for qualitative analysis and HPLC for qualitative/quantitative analysis. All products are tested for pesticides, heavy metals, and microbiological contaminations. HPLC analysis is used in identifying active constituents found in the herbs. To date, the active constituents of over 80 plants have been isolated. Ongoing HPLC qualitative/quantitative analyses continue to yield great consistency in multiple batches of products.
  
BATCH SAMPLING
The Quality Assurance team takes batch samples and test them for conformity to specifications. They audit all the processes to make sure the products meet regulatory rules and company policies. High Quality and Product Safety is top priority.

CLINICAL ENVIRONMENT
Whether filling out a single-bottle prescription or a 500-bottle customized order, all the preparation—herbal dispensing and blending, tableting, encapsulating, packaging, bottling, sealing, etc.—takes place in a clinically-enclosed clean room.
